Our new place minibook

Because we are moving and I didn´t want to lose all my magazine scraps about living, I put them together in a minibook. I cut holes into two 6x12 pieces of cardstock to create the base, glued pictures with some random scraps and stickers and used ribbon to hold it all together. Now we can go shopping for all that adorable stuff :)

Happy Valentine´s Day!

Love is in the air and I LOVE My Minds Eye products! I always admired them for their colors, patterns, the richness and mostly because I can combine them with everything! So I decided to enter their challenge nr. 20 on their wonderful blog and these are my submission. The first one is a card...

I used Colorbok cardstock and embellishment, MME patterned papers, some random buttons and white Sakura pen. Lovely!

Plus I made a layout based on this sketch:

The theme was "I love something about you" and I used really non traditional and non red/pink colors. I have a little boy, so why not share my love with his favorite colors - blue, orange and green? I love how it turned out.

Cardstock - Colorbok, patterned paper - My Minds Eye, ChatterBox, buttons - other, pen - Sakura.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Just three pictures

I recently finished a layout about my poor Jr in hospital. When he was about seven months old, he had to stay in a hospital for couple of days. Not something, I would like to think about again and again, but hopefully one day he will appreciate my effort to create a page about it.

Cardstock - Best Occasions. Paper - Jillibean Soup (brown), ChatterBox (light blue), unknown (baby boy). Journaling - Deja Views. Flowers - Colorbok. Stickers - Sassafras. Other - white pen, 3M adhesive, unknown journaling block.

Last day of the first month

Who would believe that January will be over so fast? In the beginning of the month I came across a layout ticker, when I set a goal of completed layouts this year and every time I finish one, I tick it off. My goal was to have a 100 layouts by the end of this year and I am on my way. So far I have about 15... In one month!
Today I fell in love with my COLORBOK scrapbooking kit and did two layouts exclusively from papers and embellishments from this kit.
The first one is about adorable playtime adventure and the second one is just a simple reminder how babies grow so FAST!

(For some unknown reason I can´t take pictures of square layouts with all four sides straight. Is it time for a new camera? :) )

I am currently working on a baby girl layout I am really excited about. Lots of pink, ribbons and cure accents :)

Using the scraps

I´ve been saving some packages from scrapbooking supplies in a large golden envelope. I knew there will be a time I will use them for a project and the time is NOW!
I had a piece of green stripped paper from an easel, blue and yellow paper from Life´s Little Occasions and patterned MakingMemories paper.

I used the green and blue patterned paper as whole and I cut a sun from the yellow one plus bunch of clouds from the blue one. I really like the result. Seems like a good idea, to even store the smallest scraps and packages and wait for their time. I really hate wasting anything, especially paper, so this looks like an idea I will repeat again :)

Following the sketch

Okey, two blogs in one day? Wow. Anyways, I found this awesome blog, Creative Scrappers, and they have cool sketches to follow! I really like this one and since I have tons of pictures from our recent LA trip that I would like to scrapbook before we move there, I went for it!
So this is the original sketch

and this is what I did with it! To be honest, I was really satisfied with it until I looked at their designers reveal on the sketch... but whatever. My style is usually clean and simple and although I sometimes wish I could make pages with lots of piled accents and embellishments, I know that is not me. Me is plain brown cardstock, patterned paper, punches, white pen and more paper :)

Land of the free

I am so not in a winter mood lately... So I decided to remember the awesome summer we had and do a little celebration layout. I had this circle idea in mind, with the perfect shades of blue and red to look a little like the American flag. As I was about to glue it all together, I realize I have the colors, but not the structure. So I cut six 1 inch stripes and adhered it to the cardstock to mimic the stripes of the flag. And I totally love it!
