Water Water

Summer is here! Hot days have come, we spent couple of days by water and I started scrapbooking some pictures related to water. The weather totally inspired me and I picked some nice blue papers out of my collection.
For HOLIDAY @ home I was inspired by the Anna Griffin chair rub-on and I really wanted to use it on page. I found one perfect picture from our last year summer and it looked perfectly together. Few stickers and flowers and my "masterpiece" was done :D.

Blue cardstock is from Bazzil Basics Paper, stickers are Sassafras, BellaBlvd and JoAnn, flowers are JoAnn, buttons come from scrapbooking store in Napa and rub-on chair is Anna Griffin.

The next "water" project is with pictures already I scrapbook thousand times... Back in 2009 Jr. was watering Papa's garden every day... and I took pictures. Many of them. This SPLISH SPLASH layout contains the last four of them. I didn't want anything complicated, just baby, blue color and water. I found this perfect journaling block saying splish splash and that pretty much influenced my title.

Happy summer!

All about family

It has been some time since we brought home our newborn. Now is he two, with scratched knees, obsession with fire trucks and hotdogs. I decided to finally scrapbook his birth and newborn days, since they were so precious and fragile... exactly as he was.

Few weeks ago I bought baby blue paper for this layouts and here is result number one:

With my stencil and gelly white pen I created these little "bubbles" on both green cardstock and dark blue paper.

I used Martha Stewart cardstock, DCVW and Cloud No 9 patterned paper, white gel pen and stencil.

I Miss My Friends

I had several wonderful, fabulous, gorgeous and kind gilrfriens. Then I moved few months ago... and I have just memories. Skype or emails are not that great when you just want to go out with your girls, have a dinner or couple of drinks, share a laugh. I would like to honor them at least with my scrapbooking.

I had this great paper with random friendship quotes, so I paired it with basic K&Company cardstock, Jillibean Soup brown paper, Sassafras yellow paper and other K&Company cardstock. The rub-ons are from Anna Griffin (5.99 for set of hundreds at ROSS).
I really miss my friends but this optimistic and energic layout brings me smile and good memories instead of sadness they live so far...

Butterflies everywhere

When I was cleaning my scrapbooking studio I found couple of folded cardstock intended to be made into cards. Two of the "cards" were identical, 3,5 x 5,5 leftovers from some other projects. Since they come from Tahiti Beach line from DCVW they have unique coloring... orange, blue, brown and yellow in tiny strips.
I really didn't know what to do with it... I didn't want to cover the surface completely with ither cardstock and the card too "loud" for other colors to be added...

So I punched tiny butterflies from color coordinated cardstock, add some butterfly stamps, scalloped brown (Martha Stewart) border and cute sticker. I really like how it looks and plan to make the second one with punched rabbits. How cute will that be?

First Lesson

When Jr. was five months old (almost two years ago!!) I took him to a swimming lesson for babies. He had fun, kicking his tiny legs in water and splashing all around. I scrapbooked this pictures way back then, but I decided to give them new makeover.

I used similar colors, yellow, green and blue and play a little with scalloping scissors. Blue paper is Martha Stewart, green and yellow are K&Company, scissors are all Fiskars and letter stickers are K&Company again. Oh my tiny little baby, now you can almost swim by yourself and don’t need any lessons.

And this is another layout from the past. So simple and clean – that’s totally my style. I had this big Jillibean Soup orange scrap of paper and in Napa’s store i bought this woodland whimsy hedgehog from TPC Studio. With a little help of Mulberry Paper Flowers and Colorbok letter stickers it made a perfect page for my perfect son (just kidding. Actually, no, he IS perfect, lol).
So far so good. I have been making lots of cards recently, I will post the pictures soon.

Playing with page protectors

I really love the idea of scrapbooking with page protectors I have from Ali Edwards. I bought some couple of months ago but never really used... until now. I found some old pics of my husband and baby and instead of traditional scrapbooking decided to “pageprotector” them.

For this one, “Blue eyes”, I used leftover Jillibean Soup blue paper, DCWV blue patterned paper and torn paper, Teresa Collins journaling block and Artsylicious felt flower.
After this page I got an idea of “Your best features” album – everything about my husband, all his best features, will be scrapbooked there in a similar way. I can imagine having a page about “White Teeth”, “Lovely Smile” and “Strong Hands”... Good idea, don’t you think so?
