December 1

I couldn’t wait for December to start. Building the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving doesn’t give me the right chills as building it in December. So the first day of the last month we spent moving the couch, doing laundry, vacuum cleaning... you name it, we did it. There is still some things left we need to move to prepare the place for the three, but we are almost there :)

After a quick return trip to K-Mart and GameStop we picked up Mikey from school and Travis did homework with him. I was really surprised by his patience and positive attitude. I know I wouldn’t be a good teacher, but Travis is entirely different story.

I snapped a quick sunset picture – I really enjoy sunsets! I packed few gifts, cooked dinner, went to the grocery store, make a few phone calls and lived my ordinary Frisby life. Can't wait to scrapbook it!

UPDATE: I managed to do my first page :)

All about me

I got some new supplies and I selfishly scrapbooked two pages about me. I think most of the scrappers don't do pages about themselves, and I am no exception, but once in a time I can make them, right? :)

Winter Blues

I can't wait the beginning of winter to come. Or at least fall. After my first California summer, which started in March, I am seriously tired of swimsuits, shorts and tank tops. I want to wear jeans, boots, cardigans and dark colors. I want to scrapbook wonderful pictures of bundled up baby, rosy cheeks from cold and full colors of nature... instead of this yellow blah that is all around. To make my mood better I scrapbooked some winter pics from previous winter... and started to sing Christmas songs and looking online for some Christmas themed paper. Winter, where art thou?

Red Alert

I had this perfect idea of using stamps as a background that will perfectly match some pictures of Jr. and a firetruck. The first layout, however, did not look as I thought it will. So I re-scrapbooked it. Does the word re-scrapbook even exist?
I used a nautical stamp to create my background. I had this really cool fireman paper and of course, the adorable pictures of Jr. being all stunned by a real red truck. And this layout looks soooo much better than the old one. Well, there is never enough trying to achieve perfection :)

Fa-la-la-la

Christmas cards in August? Well, why not? I found this amazing blog The Paper Variety with a Christmas card challenge and since I had some supplies from the last year, I decided to start with festivities early.
Last year I created a set of holiday cards with using Starbucks wrappers. One cup sleeve and pumpkin bread paper pack were enough for three cards and I saved one set for this year.
With card nr. 1 I used the cup sleeve, cut three three shaped triangles and attached them with 3D foam. I also used papers and cardstock from DCWV and some Stickopotamus snowflake stickers.

For the other two cards I used the bread bag - clean, of course. I really like the Christmas feeling of my cards... Feels like the holidays are around the corner :)

Something for Nuts For Sketches

So I send another email applying for a design team... this time to Nuts For Sketches. I wrote about it couple of days ago and the sketch really inspired me to create something fabulous! I don't know if that will be a winning layout securing me a place in my first design team, but it never hurts to try! So how does it look like?

For the Love of Fashion

Fashion Scrapbooking is one of the reasons I start scrapbooking. After years of tearing the pages out of magazines I gave them purpose and new life. To celebrate upcoming fall I created this page solely on pictures from Marie Claire. I love the colors, fashionable pieces, structures, patterns...

I don't know yet if I want to buy everything from my LO, since I was choosing items I would love to add to my closet. Maybe...

Joyful

Three piles of laundry, two newspaper waiting to be read and one toddler willing to play all day - busy as weekend can be.
Yesterday we were on the road, Papa took us for breakfast, we visited relatives in Modesto and later a neighborhood barbecue party. Today I am relaxing... I decided to clean my scrapbooking table. Well, from the leftovers I managed to make a JOYFUL page for my friends...

I am so bad at throwing away stuff! So I used random scraps for the flower, plus some new stickers as a stem and buttons as leaves. All the papers were leftover scraps as well. The page turned out pretty good, huh?

Working hard

After a short break due to family obligations I am back and hard at work! I decided to finally get my things published or apply for a design team. The scrapbooks at my shelf are growing and growing and I would really like to share them with the world.
I am going to apply for Nuts about Sketches Desing Team . This is their sketch:
And this is my approach to it... The papers are cut, the pictures selected. I need to put it all together adn add some sparkle!

The second sketch I am working on is a contest at Twisted Sketches . Their sketch is pretty simple and I really like it. They also have a twist - use something "smooth". I am going for a smooth wedding party.

And my layout will be all blue and beige and chocolate brown. Cute, isn't it?

So wish me luck and I will let you know how am I doing. Have a nice weekend!

Water Water

Summer is here! Hot days have come, we spent couple of days by water and I started scrapbooking some pictures related to water. The weather totally inspired me and I picked some nice blue papers out of my collection.
For HOLIDAY @ home I was inspired by the Anna Griffin chair rub-on and I really wanted to use it on page. I found one perfect picture from our last year summer and it looked perfectly together. Few stickers and flowers and my "masterpiece" was done :D.

Blue cardstock is from Bazzil Basics Paper, stickers are Sassafras, BellaBlvd and JoAnn, flowers are JoAnn, buttons come from scrapbooking store in Napa and rub-on chair is Anna Griffin.

The next "water" project is with pictures already I scrapbook thousand times... Back in 2009 Jr. was watering Papa's garden every day... and I took pictures. Many of them. This SPLISH SPLASH layout contains the last four of them. I didn't want anything complicated, just baby, blue color and water. I found this perfect journaling block saying splish splash and that pretty much influenced my title.

Happy summer!

All about family

It has been some time since we brought home our newborn. Now is he two, with scratched knees, obsession with fire trucks and hotdogs. I decided to finally scrapbook his birth and newborn days, since they were so precious and fragile... exactly as he was.

Few weeks ago I bought baby blue paper for this layouts and here is result number one:

With my stencil and gelly white pen I created these little "bubbles" on both green cardstock and dark blue paper.

I used Martha Stewart cardstock, DCVW and Cloud No 9 patterned paper, white gel pen and stencil.

I Miss My Friends

I had several wonderful, fabulous, gorgeous and kind gilrfriens. Then I moved few months ago... and I have just memories. Skype or emails are not that great when you just want to go out with your girls, have a dinner or couple of drinks, share a laugh. I would like to honor them at least with my scrapbooking.

I had this great paper with random friendship quotes, so I paired it with basic K&Company cardstock, Jillibean Soup brown paper, Sassafras yellow paper and other K&Company cardstock. The rub-ons are from Anna Griffin (5.99 for set of hundreds at ROSS).
I really miss my friends but this optimistic and energic layout brings me smile and good memories instead of sadness they live so far...

Butterflies everywhere

When I was cleaning my scrapbooking studio I found couple of folded cardstock intended to be made into cards. Two of the "cards" were identical, 3,5 x 5,5 leftovers from some other projects. Since they come from Tahiti Beach line from DCVW they have unique coloring... orange, blue, brown and yellow in tiny strips.
I really didn't know what to do with it... I didn't want to cover the surface completely with ither cardstock and the card too "loud" for other colors to be added...

So I punched tiny butterflies from color coordinated cardstock, add some butterfly stamps, scalloped brown (Martha Stewart) border and cute sticker. I really like how it looks and plan to make the second one with punched rabbits. How cute will that be?

First Lesson

When Jr. was five months old (almost two years ago!!) I took him to a swimming lesson for babies. He had fun, kicking his tiny legs in water and splashing all around. I scrapbooked this pictures way back then, but I decided to give them new makeover.

I used similar colors, yellow, green and blue and play a little with scalloping scissors. Blue paper is Martha Stewart, green and yellow are K&Company, scissors are all Fiskars and letter stickers are K&Company again. Oh my tiny little baby, now you can almost swim by yourself and don’t need any lessons.

And this is another layout from the past. So simple and clean – that’s totally my style. I had this big Jillibean Soup orange scrap of paper and in Napa’s store i bought this woodland whimsy hedgehog from TPC Studio. With a little help of Mulberry Paper Flowers and Colorbok letter stickers it made a perfect page for my perfect son (just kidding. Actually, no, he IS perfect, lol).
So far so good. I have been making lots of cards recently, I will post the pictures soon.

Playing with page protectors

I really love the idea of scrapbooking with page protectors I have from Ali Edwards. I bought some couple of months ago but never really used... until now. I found some old pics of my husband and baby and instead of traditional scrapbooking decided to “pageprotector” them.

For this one, “Blue eyes”, I used leftover Jillibean Soup blue paper, DCWV blue patterned paper and torn paper, Teresa Collins journaling block and Artsylicious felt flower.
After this page I got an idea of “Your best features” album – everything about my husband, all his best features, will be scrapbooked there in a similar way. I can imagine having a page about “White Teeth”, “Lovely Smile” and “Strong Hands”... Good idea, don’t you think so?

Oh Sunny Day

Few weeks ago I decided to try my luck with the Jillibean Soup Design Team and I ordered some stuff to create layouts to apply. The call for new designers is over, but I am seriously in love with their products. The bold colors, the pattern, the clean design... Nothing I have ever used before can compare with this company.
This is my layout I sent for the design team call:

I used Orange Sugar, Toasted Cumin and and some other papers, plus I copied some butterfly stickers, watercolor them, cut them and matted them with patterned paper for 3D look. And I am pretty satisfied with my page. Honestly, I love it. It is my best page ever so far :))

B-Day Card and Other Cards

I was making a lot of cards recently. One birthday card, one get well wish and one just for someone being sweet, one thank you and one challenge card I did not submit, because it was too late :(

The "Get Well" card is for a man, but I used a little pink in the background... I intended to make the birthday card as elegant as possible because it was for an older men and the "So Sweet" card is just so sweet :) My favourite!

I love the green flowers!!!
Aren't they cute?
Muah!
